Description
Stream Explorer will show you the number of streams in each file as they are listed per folder.
When you select a directory entry, Stream Explorer will list all the streams in that entry, and you can see their type, their size and contents. The unnamed stream is shown as .
WHAT ARE STREAMS?
The large majority of files on an NTFS disk will contain only one stream. The data that you normally deal with in the file is kept in that stream. It is called the unnamed stream.
But some files contain multiple streams.
The additional streams are named, like this: "c:\mydir\myfile.txt:mystream".
These streams can contain additional data, such as version information, author information, hard links, etc.
