Description
Nightowl is an irc client for the blind and visually impaired, based on the popular Freedom Chat Client for the MS Windows operating system. It is (currently) written in Visual Basic 6 and licensed under the GPL v3.
This list is likely to grow as new releases appear.

"Nightowl 0.2 Beta" Features:
* The ability to connect to an IRC server (no multi-server support)
* The ability to join a channel (only one channel for now)
* The ability to use basic IRC actions, such as emotes, nick completion, op, deop, kick, ban.
* Basic support for message logging (transcripts)
* Automatic speech output for popular screen readers (Jaws, Window Eyes, System Access, NVDA)
* Support for Microsoft's Speech API
* The ability to review the ten last received messages (Including system messages) and copy them to the clipboard.
* Adjustable font size for visually impaired users.
* Basic Sound events support (when an user joins, leaves, etc)
* Configurable watchlist which alerts if an user signs in or out from the same IRC server.
