Description
Have you ever taken a photo with a digital camera of a night-time scene or a normal scene which has dark or shaded areas and noticed that the image contains a few bright dots that shouldnt be there? If yes, then your camera suffers from hot pixels. Nearly all cameras have one or more of these hot pixels. And as the camera ages, more hot pixels may appear and existing ones become brighter. HotPixelDetector is a free utility from Lightning Cube Software that can be used to analyse your cameras CCD sensor to see how much it suffers from this problem. It uses the so-called dark frame technique for accurate hot pixel detection. HotPixelDetector offers a few of pluses including saving the detection results to XML or HTML files. These files can then be used with our related product HotPixelRemover.
